Terms for families
About these terms
These terms apply when you use the Courtmark app to book and pay for sessions with a tennis club, academy or coach ("your club"). Courtmark is run by Courtmark Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number [company number]), [registered office address]. By creating an account you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we look after your details.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over to have an account. Parents and guardians book for their children; children don't have their own accounts.
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep your email account secure, because anyone who can read it could sign in as you.
- Keep your details and your children's details up to date, especially medical notes, so coaches have what they need.
Bookings are with your club
When you book a class, camp, event or court, your agreement for that session is with your club, not with Courtmark. Your club sets the prices, runs the sessions, and decides its own rules on things like cancellations, missed sessions, rained-off sessions and refunds. Courtmark provides the app that makes the booking and takes the payment for the club.
If you have a question or complaint about a session, a coach or a refund, contact your club. If you have a problem with the app itself, contact us at hello@courtmark.app.
Monthly plans
- Monthly plans are paid by Direct Debit or card. The first payment is taken when you book, then on the same date each month. The monthly price is the yearly cost spread evenly, so it stays the same in school holidays.
- Adding a second or third class to a monthly plan adds it to your existing payment. The part of the current month still to come is added to your next payment.
- You can cancel a monthly plan at any time in Account. Your place continues until the end of the month you've already paid for, and no more payments are taken after that.
- If a payment fails, it may be tried again automatically, and we'll let you know so you can update your details. Your club may end the place if payment isn't made.
Termly places
- If you pay for a term, you pay for the sessions left in that term when you book.
- Depending on your club's settings, your place either rolls into the next term automatically unless you tell us to stop, or you'll be asked to confirm you want to keep it. You'll get a reminder before the new term with the date to reply by.
- When a place rolls over, payment for the new term is taken on its first day using the payment details you gave before. If that payment fails, you have 7 days to sort it out in the app before the place is offered to someone else.
Trials, camps, events and courts
- Free trials: each child can have one free trial session per class, where the club offers them.
- Camps and paid events are paid for in full when you book.
- Courts are held for you for a short time while you pay. If someone else's payment completes for the same slot first, your payment is refunded in full.
- Waitlists: if a place opens up, the first family on the waitlist is offered it and has 48 hours to book before it passes to the next family.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe, and go to your club's own Stripe account. Courtmark never sees your full card or bank details. Direct Debits are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, which protects you if an error is made in the amount or date of a payment. Prices shown in the app include any sibling or extra-class discount your club offers, and you'll see the total before you pay.
Messages
Your club can send you messages by WhatsApp, text, email and app notification. You choose which you receive in Account. Messages are one-way: please don't reply to WhatsApps or texts, because replies aren't read. Contact your club through the app or their usual contact details instead.
Using the app
- Only book for children you're responsible for, and only add details you have the right to share.
- Don't try to get into parts of the app that aren't meant for you, interfere with how it works, or use it to harass anyone.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we'll tell you why.
Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep the app running and your details safe, and we'll fix problems as quickly as we can. We're responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. We aren't responsible for the sessions themselves, which are run by your club, or for loss we couldn't reasonably have foreseen.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time in Account, under Delete my account. Any monthly plans are cancelled first, so you won't be charged again. Payments already made are covered by your club's refund rules.
General
We may update these terms, for example when we add features. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
